West Barn


Overview - 6-7 GUESTS (4 adults + 2/3 children) +1/2 cots - 3 bedrooms - 2 bath/shower rooms - Accommodation on 2 floors - Pets by arrangement

This holiday home was originally a threshing barn. It has been converted to comfortably accommodate six or seven people; ideally a maximum of four adults, plus two or three children and one or two cots.
There are three bedrooms with two bath/shower rooms.

There are two parking spaces allocated to the property.

Ground Floor
The barn is accessed via the front door in to a small hallway with hooks for coats. Stairs lead from here to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom.

There is a door into the ground floor bedroom; this has a set of bunk beds, 900 mm (3ft) wide and 1760mm long; slightly shorter than standard and therefore ideal for children. In addition a full height trundle bed 760mm

(2ft 6ins) wide can be set up on request. If the trundle bed is not used there is space for a cot.
There is a triple wardrobe with drawers underneath and a dressing table with drawers, a mirror and stool. There is a TV/DVD.

A second door from the hall opens outwards to the downstairs shower room. This has a toilet, basin, wall cabinet and shower enclosure with bi-fold door.

A third door leads through in to the kitchen/dining/living area. The kitchen, fitted with wall and floor units has good worktop space and a sink. There is an integrated electric oven and hob with extractor hood over, an integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher and a microwave oven. The under stairs cupboard houses an automatic washing machine (a tumble dryer shared with East Byre is situated in the North Stables building, across the yard).

The dining area has a table and banquette seating for six people (a chair can be provided on request). This double height space is dominated by the huge window that has replaced the original barn door. This, together with a roof window, floods the area with natural light. The living area has two sofas, two armchairs and two foot stools providing ample cosy seating for six. The foot stools have hinged lids and store a selection of board games, there is also a coffee table. This furniture is arranged around a recessed electric flame/log effect fire. There is a wall mounted TV/DVD and a CD/radio/I pod dock.
Double doors lead out in to a self-contained patio area with table and chairs.



First Floor

Upstairs the aged timbers are an attractive feature. The glazed, galleried landing overlooks the dining area below and is a bright space; a desk and chair provide a study area here.  A cupboard contains laundry and cleaning items.

There is a bedroom with zip and link beds that can be arranged as 3ft twins or a super king. It has a dressing table with mirror and stool as well as 2 small and a tall chest of drawers. To maximize space within the room the wardrobe is situated on the landing just outside it. There is a TV/DVD, clock radio and hairdryer.

The spacious bathroom has a toilet, basin, wall cabinet, large walk in shower enclosure and freestanding bath.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table with mirror and stool and a bedside table. There is a TV, clock radio, shaver adaptor plug and hairdryer. There is room for a cot.

West Barn has its own lockable, indoor storage space in the North Stables building, across the yard. This secure, dry space is fitted with coat hooks, a shelf and boot rack and is ideal for storing bicycles, outdoor equipment, excess luggage and outdoor clothing/footwear.
